From India to Colorado: A Global Journey in Tech
Arjit’s path to UnionHub started in Allahabad, India, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from NIT Allahabad. After several years working in Pune, he decided to take the next step and move to the U.S. to pursue his master’s degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Today, Arjit calls Denver home, where he lives with his wife, Sneha. Outside of work, he stays active and curious, both on and off the court. “I love playing tennis and try to make time for it throughout the week,” he says. “And Colorado has so much to explore. My favorite weekends are the unplanned ones, when we hit the road, enjoy the scenery, and find great food along the way.”
Arjit also keeps his technical skills sharp outside the office by attending local tech meetups and conferences. “It’s fascinating to see what’s happening in the broader tech community,” he explains. “Recently, I even contributed to a conference in Colorado Springs—and before that, I gave a talk in Mumbai about open-source technologies.”
Building the Foundations of UnionHub’s Future
As a full-stack software engineer at UnionHub, Arjit’s work spans the entire tech stack, with a focus on building foundational features that empower other engineers and accelerate new product development.
“One of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on was the plan builder,” he shares. “Enrollments are the heart of what we do right now, and plan builder allows insurance companies to create custom plans quickly and seamlessly. It’s been amazing to see how it enables faster, more flexible enrollments.”
Another favorite project was a configurable Q&A framework that simplified how different groups interact with UnionHub’s systems. “We ask a lot of different questions depending on the user or context,” Arjit explains, “so building a generic, reusable framework for that made things much smoother across the platform.”
Before UnionHub, Arjit gained experience in e-commerce, rail transportation, and IoT—a mix that shaped his approach to problem-solving. “Exploring new technologies is fun,” he says, “but it’s just as important to think from the user’s perspective. The best designs come from understanding how people actually use your software.”
