As UnionHub’s People Coordinator, Sam helps shape the employee experience and foster the culture that supports our growing team. But her journey to UnionHub began thousands of miles away.
A Leap of Faith
Originally from Brazil, Sam earned her Associate’s Degree in Human Resources from UNIP – Universidade Paulista and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Columbia College of Missouri (CCIS).
In 2019, she made a life-changing decision.
“I moved to the United States with just a couple of suitcases and a head full of dreams.”
What followed was a period of tremendous growth, discovery, and opportunity.
“Since then, I’ve had an incredible experience learning American culture, becoming fluent in English, building lifelong friendships, and starting my own family with my fiancé and our two beloved pets.”
That experience of building a new life from the ground up has given Sam a unique appreciation for belonging, community, and the importance of making people feel welcome—values that now guide her work every day.

Bringing People Together
Outside of work, Sam is someone who loves creating experiences around connection.
“I’m a big foodie who loves cooking, trying new restaurants around Denver, and planning trips around memorable food experiences.”
Whether she’s discovering a hidden gem in the city or planning her next getaway, food is often at the center of the adventure.
She also enjoys staying active and finding ways to recharge.
“I enjoy staying active through workouts and unwinding by binge-watching a good TV show.”
At the heart of it all is time spent with the people she cares about most.
“Whether I’m exploring a new restaurant, planning my next adventure, or spending time with family and friends, I’m always looking for experiences that bring people together.”
It’s a philosophy that translates naturally into her role at UnionHub.
Building a Great Employee Experience
Sam brings a background in Human Resources and benefits administration across several industries, giving her a broad perspective on what employees need to thrive.
Today, as People Coordinator, she balances day-to-day operations with strategic initiatives that help shape the employee experience across the company.
“I’m able to combine hands-on operations with strategic projects while serving as a steward of our workplace culture and helping drive engaging employee initiatives.”
Recently, Sam celebrated an important milestone with the company.
“I recently celebrated my one-year anniversary here and couldn’t be more excited about everything we’ve accomplished over the past year and what’s ahead.”
That excitement comes at a time of significant growth for UnionHub.
“As we continue to grow—nearly doubling in size just last year—we remain focused on creating an exceptional employee experience while balancing the unique needs of a company at our stage and in our industry.”
For Sam, one of the most rewarding parts of her role is helping build the systems and culture that allow both employees and the business to succeed.
“It’s exciting to be part of building the foundation that helps our people and our business succeed.”
Making People Feel Seen
When asked what she’s most proud of at UnionHub, Sam’s answer comes without hesitation: “Making people feel seen.”
While technology powers UnionHub’s platform, Sam believes people are the company’s greatest asset.
“Our people are our greatest strength, and I’m proud of how intentionally we invest in the employee experience.”
She credits the close partnership between leadership and the People Operations team for helping create a culture where employees feel valued and connected.
“Leadership and the People Operations team are truly aligned in creating an environment where employees feel recognized, valued, and connected to the work they do.”
Over the past year, Sam has helped support initiatives designed to celebrate achievements, improve communication, and strengthen employee engagement.
“Together, we’ve implemented initiatives that celebrate achievements, strengthen communication, and support our team members throughout their journey at UnionHub.”
Many of those efforts happen behind the scenes, but Sam sees their impact every day.
“While some of these efforts may seem small on the surface, they make a meaningful difference in helping people feel seen, appreciated, and part of something bigger.”
Looking Ahead
As UnionHub continues to grow, Sam remains focused on the people behind the progress. Whether she’s welcoming new team members, supporting employee initiatives, or helping strengthen company culture, her goal remains the same: creating an environment where people feel connected, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
